Sound quality per dollar goes to the superlux.

 

However, it depends on what you want. The HM5 is built way better, it's much more durable, has great isolation, multiple pads, detachable cables, carry case, etc. It's an overall good product from start to finish. The superlux sounds good, but you are saving money in the housing, the build, everything.
