Looking for Sub-$350 Headphones

Heya,

So I decided to treat myself to a Christmas gift using the spare money I had been given/leftover from gifting, and it rounds to about $450. Basically I'm looking for open-backed headphones around or under the $350 range as I'm willing to wager that headphones around this area are going to require a $100~ amp at the least. Types of sound signatures I'm aiming at are signatures like the M50 and HD25, my two current sets (and I love them both). Mainly listen to alternative, rock, and occasionally a side of EDM. If there are headphones that have similar sound distinctions, then let me know. I'm been looking specifically at the AKG K702, Sennheiser HD650 and Grado SR325i.

Thoughts?

Heya,

Maybe look into:

Beyer DT880

Beyer DT990

Hifiman HE-300

HIfiman HE-400

Ultrasone HFI 2400

Amp wise, you can be flexible, a Schiit Magni at $99 will cover all of it handsomely.

Very best,

My friend has also been heavily recommending the Beyer DT 880, thanks for the help.

Does anyone else want to throw in their two cents, particularly concerning the DT 990 and the AKG K702?

+ Edited the OP with favored genres.
