Well, here it is, The Terror by The Flaming Lips. Released on April 1st, April Fools, but it is not

They continue to be strictly unconventional, no surprise, taking on "All is all your need is love", by The Beatles. Electronic soundscapes, maybe all created in the mind of Wayne Coyne, who knows... Not their best, but still The Flaming Lips and as always they're moving in new directions..

Wheeler Brothers - Gold Boots Glitter

The second album from five-time Austin Music Awards winners. A unique blend of roots rock with some folk and twang.

It's been out for a few weeks, but I don't think anyone has mentioned it in this thread. There will almost surely never be an equal to Emmylou's work with Gram Parsons, especially "GP" from 1973. That was the record that made "Country Rock."

However, I think Rodney Crowell has been working with Emmylou since (maybe) the '70s, and anyway, when Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris put out a record, it is worthy of attention.

Gene Clark - Here Tonight the white light demos (2013)

Songs are not new.  Previously unreleased outtakes and demos from Gene Clark's 1971 masterpiece White Light. Here the songs are stripped down to the basics of guitar and vocal.

Both are fantastic.

Volbeat- Outlaw Gentlemen And Shady Ladies.

Danish heavy metal/rockabilly band have just released their fifth studio album. This album features Anthrax lead guitarist Rob Caggiano. Apparently he will keep hanging around, meaning joining the band permantly.  Not my favorite Volbeat album, but energetic wise it has its perks and they do sound very tight.

Kurt Vile - Walkin On A Pretty Daze

I like this album a lot.  Airy guitar+vocal driven indie rock that just seems to float along.  It was a good sign when the end of the 9:30 title track came deceptively fast.  Vile gives his music the time and space to unfold and the songs shimmer without fatiguing.

Spent all day yesterday listening to Kurt Vile's latest and his previous effort.   Wonderful.   And you gave a very good description of his latest.

I've been looking forward to this one for a while now.  The reviews really tempered my expectations.  The Pitchfork review in particular made me nervous.  I just got done listening to it.  With my lowered expectations, I was happy with the album.  I'm glad I read the reviews, otherwise, I would have been disappointed.  I think "Mosquito" is on par with "It's Blitz" but I don't think I'll end up liking it as much as the first 2 albums albums and the EP "Is Is".

People were more concerned about the artwork. Everybody hated it, I like it. I think it is disturbing, but since it is a Pixar-like cartoon it's a bit sweeter.
