Its not visible. Just use the most microscopic screwer you got there.

BTW, burn-in in these cans is completed in just about 5 hours. No need to force this any longer. SQ is excelent. Nomore room for improvement, I think.

EDIT: Was I wrong! After 24 hours of pure Drum n Bass 85% volume, there's even more micro-detail. Nice stuff ; )

EDIT 2: This turned out to be 4 holes in each side of the pads for the perfect balance. They're sounding amazing with crystal clear/sparkling treble!

EDIT 3: Comparing these to the XB500/700 is sacrilege.

I wonder how this mod would affect the other new models of the XB line

I am definitely considering getting my hands on these once the price drops a bit

I'm wondering the same too, but not sure from memory if the XB500 were not all closed by plastic.

The other new models of the XB line will benefit of the same mod as they're identical. But I wouldn't get any lower than the 800.

I'm selling mines for just 99€ as I'm getting the V-Moda M100's and an high-end amp. Just in case you're interested.

I came. I read. I considered jumping on board, but alas the conductor has called it quits!

$150 price tag stopped me right there.

i own the xb500/700/1000s andi gave a listen to the two new xb600 and xb800 a week ago. My younger cousin wanted to compete a little with me with by buying the newer models than the older ones. They are worse than the previous line and muddier imho. as i found both the xb500 and xb700 to be far better than their respective upgrades. Without the mod that miow is talking about, i am afraid that the new line is not worth it AT ALL.

It's the terrible sound quality that stopped me 3 months ago

If it's priced under $100, it will be a better competitor for portable cans with the ES7 for mainstream consumer.

I tried the xb600 and didn't like it either compare to my XB700.  They just don't seem as energetic and engaging to me as the XB700.  Plus they feel cheap and clumsy to me when handling them.

How are these headphones compared to the ATH-M50s that I'm currently using? Bought a E11 recently and disappointed about the lack of difference.

I could technically get this on sale for $99.
