Excellent point. This pair of headphones does some stuff better than any other headphones out there. 

I think most of the people that agreed have a more than 10k audio gear  and want their private little club:)) and their club became too crowded. 

I have listened to a 7k vaughan near a 2k burson conductor and the differences were minor, actually preferred conductor in some aspects, and I am sure that some people owning vaughan or gear in that price category would say that Burson Counductor is not high end or the differences are enormous, without actually blind testing them both.

It is very easy to be thrown into psychoacoustic. Blind testing in these cases would show this.

Lcd2 may not be summit fi (as some may think, though I do not agree) , but if it isn't, many other headphones should get kicked out of this category.

In my opinion LCD2 is high end, no questions there. Maybe you should create another branch named "Ultra High-End" . Saying that lcd2 is not high end is very funny in my opinion :)) It truly makes me laugh . Saying it is not ultra high end, well that is closer to the truth.

I personally couldn't care where they put the headphones. I started my HE500 and LCD2 thread in "Headphones" subforum a while back anyway, simply because more people lurk there. But what I thought was a little annoying is the removing of them two headphones only from Summit fi. And it can only be because they have become so popular that a lot of people are joining in Summit-fi and it is now not so "elite" anymore. And the only way to keep all the newbies out is to remove the two most popular high-end" phones from there. Popular, because they are most peeps first step into high end. Well not anymore kids! Your gonna have to do more than borrow your dads credit card now haha Your gonna have to work the streets night after night providing favours for Sailors and stealing cars if you wanna afford to hang with the summit crew!

But its all good, I'm working class anyway and proud of it   

going along with all this, i think that while these headphones are "high end" or at least capable of competing with some of the stats and whatnot, allowing their general discussion on summit fi also leads to alot of people discussing for amps/dacs for them, many of them being mid-fi or worse (seriously, how many hd 800/LCD-2 setups actually use top tier headphone amps, not many) so then that defeats the purpose of summit-fi, and its too much of a hassle to have people post in separate places, remove those posts, etc.

That is true, but this should be applied to all headphones in the summit fi in that category, not just lcd2.

My point was that Summit Fi (from my impressions) was the forum for people who are willing to invest the time, effort and money to get the very top headphone listening systems, very often along with their high-end hi-fi. Audio, being complex, is hard to nail down on what that means, but the intent of the people who seek top performance isn't. I understand where the impressions come from, but definitely don't agree that seeking and discussing top-performing gear is elitist or any of the insulting things you put in your post. If someone feels insulted that their favourite headphones (or other gear) aren't in Summit Fi (including because of measurements) then, honestly, that's crazy. It's just a forum, not a judgement on someone's status.

My head-fi listening is always compared to my hi-fi listening and real-life listening

For me, summit-fi is the pursuit of the most realism

I think he means he wants summit-fi to be where hardcore audiophiles chat. So if you are only interested in getting the best setup for $1000 budget (for example), and that's it, then this subforum is not applicable for you.

So kinda like the modding subforum, except money and audiophile knowledge is being passed around instead of DIY tricks and techniques.
