Fantastic Piano Sound - Uwe Karcher

Hi all,

I've really been enjoying the performances of Uwe Karcher lately. His playing his excellent, and he has great dynamic control. He also has excellent time.

However, I'm posting here because his piano sounds great! Check it out:

Hope you enjoy!

Thread revival!

I saw his channel recently.  This guy makes excellent - and very accurate - transcriptions of some challenging songs.

I'm also curious as to how he's recording his piano.  I don't see any mics and the lid is closed.  It sounds strangely clean and free of performance/mechanical noises, and I don't think the bass notes should be that powerful on a piano that small.  It makes me think he might be triggering sampled software pianos.  Some of the little things like the note decay, sympathetic resonance and pedal/damper noise also remind me of a software piano.

This recording especially sounds digital:

He does, actually, in the comments say that it's a Yamaha GA-1 tuned for a more 'brilliant intonation.'
