Some iPod Classic Questions

OK first things first I AM NOT AN AUDIOPHILE. I am just starting the journey to become one.

Question number one and foremost exactly what DAC is on the latest iPod Classic. I am looking for detailed technical specs.

Secondly I have rockbox running on it and I have noticed a increase in audio quality or it that just me. Even on the crappy ear buds that come packaged with it (there the only headphones I have right now)

hi there you can look up the info from wikipedia or maybe you can even do a search on the forum for more info.

all i know the new generations of iPod runs on DAC from Cirrus Logic.

its cannot be mod like the older generation of iPods.

already checked wikipedia I am looking for detailed info on it and I have already checked the forms nothing on the 7th gen classic which is what I have.

Many thanks that is exactly what I was looking for.

EDIT: here is the link to all the technical info all tho there is no jitter measurement it has a class h head phone amp but all in all not a horrible DAC according to the spec sheet and what I have read here on head-fi about DACs it isn't horrible but it isn't great either

In this case, jitter is not a property of the DAC, but rather the circuit Apple puts it in.  Therefore the reason you don't see a jitter measurement is that it wouldn't be possible to provide one independent of the ipod.
