Not very good.

Sorry, I do not class ipods as audiophile players. They're stuck somewhere in the early / mid 2000's, where mini disc players actually had better sound quality IMO. I am not a fan of Apple devices for audio playback period, I also find it frustrating that Apple have set the standard of mainstream sound quality to every day consumer so low yet people accept it, yet again a $30 Sansa Clip+ can
almost rival their $300+ devices.
When you add the amp, you can achieve decent results but still the Colorfly's pull away rather quickly. The CK4 is just not comparable to Apple devices, nore any Cowon player I have tried. It's a different world of clarity, soundstage, separation, detailing levels. I can pull out my
Sony Mini Disc MZ-R501 and put any Apple device in my inventory I have here to shame, to me that is not right, that is not acceptable, that a 15 year old mini disc player can put down an ipod touch, ipod Nano etc in this day and age IMO.
Sorry, but you asked, and that's the way I feel, regardless of their LOD function and rockbox add ons. I haven't tried the 4th gen touches yet and some people assure me they're different, but I will need hear such a thing first to change my opinion.
