Selling the DT 880 2005 Premium, 250 ohm, which I NoXter modded into a closed back model according to this thread:
I did all the steps described in the first post, but not the improved isolation.
The mod is completely reversable without damaging the headphone itself. I'll include the original felt pieces that were in the ear cup housing.
All you need to obtain are the stock DT 880 ear pads, I don't have them anymore.
Included is also the carrying pouch and box.
The box is slightly beaten up because the first owner used the box as a shipping parcel.
I'll ship double boxed.
As needed for the closed back mod, these DT 880 have DT 770 velour ear pads.
I cleaned the ear pads carefully.
In the modding proces, I had to pull off the rings that holds the driver with a tiny screwdriver. While doing this, sometimes the screwdriver slipped into the fabric that covers the driver, creating little holes. The fabric is also a bit torned because I removed the stock felt on the driver and put it back after trying different damping materials. The little holes doesn't affect the sound in any way, and you cant's see them on the outside.
The velours of the ear pads came loose from the rings at some points and I had to glue it back with textile glue. They are still washable without coming loose again.
The pads are also still firm.
If you want, I can order new DT 770 ear pads for 25,- Euro more.
Or DT 880 pads if you want to go back to stock. I'm willing to do the unmodding.
Reason for selling: I recently bought a ZMF modified Fostex T50RP, and later matching Alpha pad, which was an expensive affair. Sacrificing this DT 880cb to ease my conscience and weeping wallet.
The asking price is firm, no offers please.
If a sale at this price is not possible, I'll buy new DT 880 pads, mod them back to stock and sell them at a higher price.
