New pair of headphones for 200 bucks

Hey Head-fi

 

I was looking at a new pair of headphones for my brother and i found these:

Can they be recommended??

 

If not, what will you recommend for about 200 dollars??

not sure many would recommend the soul at the $200 point

The Vmoda M80 are pretty good sounding for the price and they fit well for portable use, other headphones like Sony Z700, Shure SRH 840 are pretty for the price.

I second the Shure SRH840. I just recently got a pair. I love them! however, they are absolutely not for portable use. But on the other side they work great for just simply listening. Plus they are increadibly durable.

It looks like you/your brother are being swayed by (very powerful) marketing forces.

 

Whilst 'style' etc is certainly important to many I would strongly advise you research (like you have done coming here) before spending a good chunk of money on celebrity branded headphones. Whilst some people like the sound the vast majority here will not fall into that camp and it is usually true to say you are paying for a name more than a good pair of cans.

At the end of the day all reviews are merely one persons opinion and you may find you/yr brother loves the sound from the Soul/Monsters/etc

Thanks for the quick reply ^^

 

It's only my brothers that are being swayed by these marketing forces, i have tryed to convince them to buy something from Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Ultrasone and much more but it's simply impossible.

sennheiser 598 they r one of the best cans available.u will enjoy every detail  and they look good too (in an elegant way)..
