Schiit Mjolnir, Burson HA-160D, or Violectric V100 - Page 5

@DefQon

Yes, Fried Reim stated this in the V200 thread here, I suppose. He mentions it in german forums, too. I don't have a link, but I'm completely sure I read about this several times. No need to mention that I put more trust in his statements than to some others given by Addicted to Audio. ;)

I heard both SE and balanced, in SE mode I could not tell a single difference at all, soundstage was a bit expanded, opened up driving in balanced mode. That's from the horses mouth unless the gentleman at A2A is wrong.

I read where the V181 is two V100 in the same box.  Where the V200 is a different design all together.  I could be wrong.

Along with this, it wouldn't make sense to sell the V181 and V200 at the exact same retail price if they were the same internally, considering one has a balanced output and the other does not.  No one would buy the V200 in that case.

Logically speaking, my vote is that they are not the same.

Yep. The balanced version of two V100's stuffed into one chassis.

Well there you go 2x two channel V100's running in balanced mode, I would not be surprised if their are some parts of the schematics the same between the two. Besides that I could not tell the difference between the V181 and V200 in SE mode. The jump from the V100 to the V200 is very little maybe just bit more treble extension, both warm sounding but the V181 and V200..hmmm.

Part of me is curious just to buy Heir 8A's but if I don't like them over my 13's, I might as well have throw a few hundred dollars out the window..

I don't have a whole lot of time for head-fi like I used to, can everybody in this thread keep an eye out for some deals between any of this gear?

I'm willing to let go of my V200 for a pretty good price if you're interested.  Send me a PM.
