INEARCUSTOM - Cheapest re-shell ever? - Page 6

WOW NATIVE AMERICAN!

For those of you that placed orders, how long did it take to get your impression kit. I placed my order 12 days ago and still no impression kit. After the first week, Rob said it was an oversight and was sending the kit USPS priority mail. That was last Friday, still no kit. I sent Rob a follow up email asking or a tracking number and haven't gotten a response. I can understand the company being swamped with orders, but sending out the impression kit hold be the easiest part of the process. Given the positive customer service some have mentioned here, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I will continue to update with my experiences with inearcustom.

I just received an email from Rob concerning the impression kit. He was very apologetic and offered a refund or, if I still trust him, he'd overnight the kit to me. I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt and will wait and see if I get the kit in Saturday's mail. I will update this thread so that those of you interested in inearcustom will have some idea how Rob handles problems.

FWIW--I have no reason to believe the delay I'm experiencing is the result of anything other than a small business going through growing pains.

[I'm not sure if anyone is still paying attention to this thread, but I'll continue to update just in case. Hopefully, some one out there might find this information helpful when deciding whether or not to place an order.]

Rob was able to find the tracking number from the impression kit he sent out last Thursday and, sure enough, the USPS website shows that the package was delivered last Saturday.  And while the USPS notes the exact time of delivery, they don't keep records of the exact street address.  So there's no way to know where my impression kit actually is right now, other than my house where it belongs (Is it any wonder that the USPS is losing money?).  As frustrating as this is, it's good to know that Rob did send the kit out immediately when I brought the initial problem to his attention.  I've got an e-mail back in to Rob to see what we can do at this point, but I have confidence that we'll work something out.

I think there are many people paying attention to this thread especially me. My finished reshelled RE262 were sent on 24th Feb to Bangalore, India. I am still waiting for them. That said, I was not expecting they to arrive in two days because as the title of this thread suggests this is one of the cheapest options available and hence these things are part of the game.

I am not joking when I say this, when I sent the RE-262 for re-shell a small part of me believed I won't see it back. Its part of the adventure.

That said, Rob has been extremely cooperative and responsive. Since he is relatively new I think he needs some time to create a process with respect to order processing, dispatch etc. After which everything should just work out fine. I hope he stays in the game for the long run and we have an IN-EARZ kind of long running thread gs1000.gif

How is the workmanship of the Customs? can it be compared with the bigger brands like UM?

Quick update:

Rob completely stepped up to the plate and had a new impression kit sent overnight to me.  Even though I offered to pay shipping (since it wasn't Rob's fault the post office mis-delivered the first package), he sent it on his dime. I will snap some shots of the kit and post it later.  As Rob's recent FB post indicates, the new kit comes with a bite block.  This is good news.  Rob's website had instructions recommending a closed mouth impression.  I'm not sure, but I wonder if some of the people having sealing issues are a result of a closed mouth impression.  In any event, as other's have reported Rob is all about making the customer happy.

I have read the fine print on his ebay auctions - he seems to be extremely customer oriented - if by the 2nd try, you cannot get a proper fit, he will send you a new pair of the IEM's you originally sent him....

I am not sure if any of the other reshell companies stand by their work like they do....

From the auction...

Please think of your purchase like a partnership. We are taking on risk by opening your generic fitting IEM's, removing the components, and installing them into a custom shell. We understand that the risk is if we break it we buy it.  We are willing to take this risk because we believe that there must be an answer to the great need for affordable custom IEM's in the marketplace.

If for any reason you are not satisfied we will make it right for you.

I am seriously thinking of sending in my TF10's - They really don't get much use.

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for awhile now and am about to send in my TF10s for a reshell. Anybody receive their reshells recently and can comment on current wait times and how the quality is compared to inearz? Any info is appreciated!

Cheers
