YESH, mines is on the way as well. ^ If i had to pick out at it, it would be somewhere between the WA6 and the WA6SE but with DAC functionality.

Did you guys read the owner's manual? I read something about how the RCA's can output a preamp signal. I was pretty sure that the RCA output feature was just for the DAC, so this contradiction confuses me a bit. Is it a preamp output (where it goes through amplification via the 6c45 tubes), or is it just an analog out for just the DAC?

Correct, OS X has had built-in support for HD audio (even beyond 24/192 if supported by the device and connection) for a few generations now. One side effect of having been used in pro audio engineering for a long time, despite being a bit of niche product ; )

We will update the user manual shortly.

The D-A is USB powered. You do not need to switch on the amp when using the D-A RCA preamp output. D-A does not pass tubes.

Mac OS X does not need to install driver. It is natively supported by the D-A.

Windows users:
It is unnecessary to set the Windows sample rate and bit depth to 24/192. You should let the playback application to determine the media sampling rate. Here are the recommended settings.

* Control Panel -> Sound -> SPDIF Speakers -> Properties -> Advanced -> check all boxes in Exclusive Mode.

* Set your playback application output model to WASAPI - Event Style.

Note that some playback applications do not support WASAPI output mode. You may consider the capable ones such as JRiver Media Center and foobar.

Tips: Direct Sound and Wave Out output mode have poor sound quality, avoid when possible.

Still waiting for mine, read through the manual, and would appreciate if the the following could be clarified: are both the 1 1/4" and 1 1/8" headphone outputs at the same gain and impedance? For example, some manufacturers have the 1/1/8" one at a lower impedance and/or gain to better match mobile headphones/IEMs usually connected to that size connector.

I've received a loaner review unit. Yes, it's heavy. When I read that the block on top was glass, I thought "You have to be kidding" but seriously, it's a solid block of glass with two holes for the tubes.  I'll have to spend some time with it but my initial impressions of the sound are that is relaxed and a bit warm, typical of my experience with Sovtek tubes.

Got mine today. Sure was a challange not opening it at work.

Have a question regarding the driver, it seems to have installed two audio devices.
The SPDIF output (which is recommended to use in the manual) does not output any audio. However using "Speakers (USB2.0 High-Speed True HD Audio)" does.
Possibly a windows 8 issue?
