1.) Hook up your dac like you normally would (connect to your computer via usb)
2.) Grab a usb corded mouse with a click wheel for scrolling (connect to your computer )
3.) Power everything up (computer/dac)
4.) Plug in your cans or iems to your dac
5.) Open whatever music player you use ( Foobar - Audirvana - Amarra - J. River - etc.)
6.) Play any track just to make sure your computer and dac are communicating properly.... (put your cans on your ears/iems in your ears)
7.) Pause the track (Keeping volume at the same level)
8.) Open up a web browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc)
9.) Now go to any site that requires you to scroll using the click wheel on the mouse
10.) Listen for any noise/sounds while you scroll up and down using the click wheel on the mouse...
11.) If you're brave enough turn up the volume - All the way on your dac and you might hear the need for a better USB cable coming through LOUD and CLEAR!
That's my test... you really don't need the internet for it - any program that requires you to scroll will do... just scrolling on the desktop should do the trick as well...
Like I said previously - I don't have any charts, graphs or measurement tools just me ears! Seen!!!
I dub the "The HeruEYES TEST!" even though you're using your EARS!
