The best is to order something cheap from head-direct and receive by error something not-so-cheap ;) Happened to me last year ;)

Depends on what you consider 'cheap'. 

I'm more the save up and buy mid-fi type.

well, for me "cheap" is anything under $50, it's nice to get let's say a $40 IEM that people compare to a $200 IEM, you know?
