Those that tried the HE-500 with the La Figaro 339 and the Bottlehead.

I understand that both of these are OTL which are suited for high impedance phones but how well did they do with the He-500. Volume position and also if there's any feel that it requires more power to drive the HE-500?

Cheers.

La Figaro/Darkvoice works very good with the HE-500. No idea how its with the Bottlehead though.

+ add the tube rolling for optimal performance which would suit each own

The La Figaro works well with the HE-500, but will always inject a sweeter, more laid back, dark sound signature to it (And I've tried a lot of different tube combinations).  If this is to your liking, then you have a winner.  I loved it, to be quite honest.

The HE-500 does not pair well with the Bottlehead Crack.  There's not nearly enough output power to have them sing, and once you start increasing the volume, you'll hit distortion.  I pair the Crack w/speedball with the HD800, and I get some rather fascinating results.

Hope this helps.

Just accidentally changed the Valhalla to a LYR too.

Actually there is a method to my madness. My main is going to be the Tempest III but I am going to have to pack it and my speakers up before long for a move to Miami. Figured I'd use e LYR as a temp and then leave it In the living room after the move.

Did anyone try LF339 with the HD800? I am currently enjoying my LF339 with HD650, looking to pull the trigger for HD800 sometime soon. Any impressions?

Can you share how headphones were hooked up to the Rouge power amp?

The tempest has a headphone out. It seems that it is a very nice one too.

I agree the output on the Rogue Tempest was very enjoyable to listen to.  Especially with the LCD3.  Hope you are sleeping better at night now Stevtt.

Thanks to Defiant00 for bringing the Modi/Magni combo.  Because I was able to hear it at the meet, I had little trepidation in ordering the Modi for my computer setup, which I did last week.  I'll pair it with the MK2III that I was trying to finish before the meet for a (hopefully) nice budget rig.

Correction:  CK2III
