So I stumbled upon this case because I was looking to store trumpet mouthpieces. I'm a professional trumpet player.
Anyway, this case is marketed for pistols. I don't own any guns but I thought it would be useful for me nonetheless. When I was looking last week, it was $17. Then it dropped to $12. I pulled the trigger and bought 1. Then I realized that I could also use this to store my headphones.
Overall it is well made. It's plastic and the foam is pretty firm. I wouldn't check it into any airline cargo but it's definitely useful for storage and bringing it for meets and stuff like that. C'mon, 12 bucks. That's super cheap and free prime shipping. I got them in 1 day. Some pictures below.
It comes with 3 foams. 2 egg crate and 1 plain. I had to use 1 egg crate and 1 plain to store my Audio Technica 10vtg. Then I put another piece of flat foam I have from elsewhere to prevent the cord from moving in there. Because the setup is still tight, I had to cut a little of the egg crate foam away to fit the bowls properly. See below.
Next up are my HF-1 and HF-2. The fit well with 2 egg crate foams and don't require any mods or the plain foam.
