My friend asked some advice for headphones, and he was thining beats, and I told him NOOOOO!.  He listens to rap, electronic more mainstream music basically.  He also needs some headphones that he will be using for he phone(samsung galaxy s3) and laptop mainly.  It also needs to be able to fold, and cant be too much.  I was thinking about recommending some ultrasone hfi 780, ultrasone hfi 580, audio technica m50 and but I think there could be a few more I could recommend.   I can take any advice thanks

Hiya nokia, I think the Logitech ue6000 would perform admirably for your friend. Great consumer friendly sound (warm with full bass), attractive styling, it folds nicely and sounds lovely in passive mode - the noise cancelling, while not great, is a bonus. Sadly, I don't own one, but I have auditioned it for a bit and it is a steal at $199 if you ask me.

They are portable, too, and easy to drive, so your friend won't have to fuss with amps. I have not tried the ultrasones or m50s, but I think they are solid recommendations too. Good luck!
