AEDLE VK-1 Limited Edition Headphones - Page 6

Wow. I got mine today and both sides say "L", and it happens to be the component that lets the cups swivel,  and so since two identical pieces are now opposing each other, they do not swivel together and therefore do not fit right...hoping I don't have to cover shipping to France on this one.

tried them at the high end Show in munich on sunday, and the main Thing i was impressed with was their outstanding soundstage especially in depth and their precise Imaging. it reminded me of the presentation of the lcd-xc. was it just me or do they beat almost every other closed back in Terms of soundstage depth and Imaging?

Their soundstage isn't actually all that wide or deep in the grand scale of closed-backs as the small cups and pads don't really allow for a huge soundstage (all imho) but the imaging is so damn good even when compared to much larger headphones that I was really impressed when I first tried them after they came in the mail. Shame the comfort isn't nearly as great as the sound though.

Every instrument and singer is precisely located in the soundstage the VK-1 presents to you with a clear position that allows you to properly visualize the room they were in when recording. It's one of the best things about them along with the black grain-free background and smooth sound signature.

thx for the answer, now i am sold...

Just don't forget the comfort issues, it's the reason why I'm considering putting them on the classifieds.

as i never had any Trouble with onear designs (with over ears i had though) i am not too afraid of Problems with comfort.

Any Aedle VK-1 users who can recommend these ones to used them with, for example, the Astell & Kern AK 120 series ?

right now i listen to them out of an iphone with the same result as when i pair the with my dx50 plus amp. so it should be fine with the ak.

another question: did anyone compare them to the t51p?

Never tried with the AK120 but they sounded wonderful out of pretty much any amp I tried them with including the inbuilt DX50 one. They seem to actually scale pretty well as it was a noticeable improvement with the 627 MICRO than with the stock DX50 amp, but YMMV.

The T51P is far more comfortable but the VK-1 sounds darker and more refined overall. Can't remember anything else about the matchup, sorry.

OK thanks.

the vk1 sounds pretty natural, but too lush for my liking. i would prefer a slightly more analytical signature with more separation and layering. i wonder if i will ever find that in an on ear design.

The Spirit Pro might be more up your alley then because according to other people they're the definition of neutral although I have no experience with them personally. They're also a bit big for an on-ear design.
