I have been a long time lover of music and decided to get serious about my audio set-up. Today the wife got me the Sennheiser HD 650's for Christmas and I want to do them justice. I am new to this forum and would like to know what should be my next step. How can I take my listening experience to the next step? My current set-up is just a computer with music on it with a good set of headphones. What should be my next purchase? Not worried about specific models or price ranges just the equipment needed to make my listening experience better.

You should get an external Digital to Analog converter and pair it with a headphone amplifier.
Or you can just get a two in one (usually saves money and space, but sometimes not as great sounding).
NuForce Icon HDP is a good D/A|Headphone Amp for the computer using USB. Xonar Essence STX, ST, One would work fine to drive the HD 650 as well.
