I really like my HD 598, but it's falls short to certain genre of music like D&B, dubstep, rock, and pop. I'm looking for a pair of headphones that don't cost too much (less than $200), that can cover all these genres. I'm thinking of getting the HFI-780, but are there any other headphones that could cover everything that the HD 598 is not so strong in. I own the ATH-M50s, but I feel as the HD 598 dominates everything that the ATH-M50s plays, including bass-ier music. I was also thinking of the Grado SR-225i, but I hear they only perform strong in rock and metal. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

grados and sennheisers compliment each other at least decently well imo
grados being lively and energetic and the sennheiser being laid back and relaxing

On-board audio is usually something they built in at the lowest cost with barely decent sound quality (more so on the cheaper motherboards)
Spend $25-$40 for an Asus Xonar DG or DGX sound card, might improve the sound quality enough that you will just keep using the HD598.
Maybe it not make the bass louder, but hopefully bass quality will improve, as well as over all sound quality.
If your still not happy with the HD598, you can sell them off and get more bassy headphone (Fischer Audio FA-011?)
I had the HFI-780 and couldn't stand them. The treble was sibilant and fatiguing even after just 10-15 minutes. I got the HD598 and never looked back. My sound card has a built in amplifier and I have the cMoyBB. I use both of them with the bass boost turn "on" on the cMoyBB. Sounds awesome.
