Amp help *newbie*

Alright, so I'm new to this forum and this is actually the first time I've actually posted in a forum
 

I have a Sansa Fuze+ as my music player and Shure SE215's as my main earphones. I might get the Klipsh X10 on Amazon since they're only $90 now dt880smile.png
 

So my question is, if I get an amp, say a Fiio e6, will it improve the sound quality of my Shure's?....how bout the X10's? The Shure's impedance is relatively low (20Ohms)

Can an amp damage a headphone with low impedance? Does anyone know the output power of the Fuze+? I've searched all over Google and didn't have any solid finding.

I tried using my Fiio E6 with my Clip Zip, did not really make a difference.

Stopped using the E6 with the Clip Zip after one week.

Fiio E6 makes a huuuge difference with sansa clip. my xb90ex sound much more energetic with fiio e6 compared to using it with sansas headphone out, which sounds lifeless compared to it... so yeah, I'd say get a fiio E6...

From what the above poster said and taking into consideration the matching gear used I would go for!

 

I just wanted to say that I prefer the Sansa Clip+ with my Heir Audio 4A.i's as oppose to using a small fiio amp

Before you buy an amp, or any gear for that matter, you really should have a goal in mind. Buying gear just "because" can make you broke and will get you nowhere fast. I'm not saying you're doing this, just making the point in general.

 

You should always have a few things in mind when thinking about a puchase.

 

First - what exactly am I missing in my present setup that this new equipment will provide?

 

Second - you should know your specific acoustic preferences. Do you like forward bass, mids, highs? A combination? Do you like neutral or analytical sound, colored, or warm sound? You need to know what you want your gear to provide.

 

If you buy gear without these two points clearly defined in your mind, you will never know when you've met or have come close to your sonic goals. It's kind of like driving around without a destination - it can be fun, but you never quite get "there" - wherever "there" is.
