Will a Fiio E6 portable amp improve the sound of my second generation iPod?

Hello head-fi community,

 

I recently purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 518s and while they sound great on my computer, the sound on my old Ipod nano was a little weak. This got me into researching various amps and the E6 looked like a good buy. I also purchased a LOD connector as I've head it will produce better sound from the iPod since it won't be using the built in amp. Can I expect to see at least an equal, or better level of performance in comparison to how my headphones sound on my desktop?

I tried using the Fiio E6 (and Clip Zip) with my Sony MDR-V6 (60-Ohm) headphones, after a week I stopped using the E6 as I really did not make a difference.

I would say to spend extra and get the Fiio E11.

Darn I was thinking about getting the E11 but that's a pretty big investment for my first amp.

The E11 is a great value though, especially if you get the package from the Micca Store which comes with a second battery and external charger.
