Vic, i agree with Eke and i also agree with some of your findings, still H200 has some miracle for me, it is like coming home, putting off lack shoes, changing into slippers, leaning back in soft armchair and sipping some good drink and puffing a cigar... This really like coming home. H200 will not beat more sophisticated IEMs but H200 holds its unqiue sig which make many people very happy and willing to pay the price.

one more observation is that H200 can be source picky, i find it best pairing with c3 and BH openning the whole music Nirvanna but pair this with RWAK i find it becoming shouty and stressy sometimes... yes, expensive does not mean synergy and for what is worth i find H200 pairing much better with c3 and BH or even Cowon S9 i have... and not RWAK.

NB: for what is worth and IMHO

I don't remember reading that. Are you sure you didn't mean the 4.A?

No, it was the 8A - the gentleman owned the 4A - but made the comparison with the 8A - I don't want to make a big deal about this - I was actually going to buy a pair of H-200 during the intro pricing - but held off as I was able to get the 4A and 8A for 1K - I did take a bit of umbrage with a comparison based on "friends" who sold their 8A's - certainly there are those who have, and there are some on the for sale/trade thread - but these (8A) are different animals. Simply because one finds a sound signature not to their liking does not mean everyone shares their impressions - I think that was what prompted me to fire my broadside in this thread re: hype.

EDIT: I don't need to answer twice, do I?biggrin.gif

That's not true - toxicdrift said that he owns the 8.A but was very disappointed, and prefers the H-200.

That's not the person I exchanged posts with - so what isn't true?

IMO, the Heir thread(s) were more hyped than this one is... Can you quote the post?

And no, you don't have to answer twice, that was a forum bug/error (on mobile web-app).

It's not true that the person who called it better than the 8.A hadn't heard the 8.A.

Remember "better" is a human perception unless there is a clear difference.

I guess he must have stuck someone else's 8A's in his ears - no wonder they sounded poor.

Can we be done with this? I'm done bantering with the clueless. If they liked the H200 better- more power to them - but to make a blanket statement that the H200 is significantly better than an 8A is ludicrous.

Most people don't diss a product which they payed 1000$+ for...cuz no one wants to be that fool who payed such a price for mediocre iems. The biggest problem with the 8.a if u ever get to demo it for a longer session is that it doesn't reproduce the song properly..im not talking reference quality accuracy.. just how a song would sound out out "most" iems..  it changes it according to its own sound sig... most of the times u hear a familiar song and ur like WTF it doesnt sound like that, yes the micro detail is all there, but u haveto sit up and listen for it .. its not just delivered naturally, .. it does get fatiguing on longer sessions... i used to get treble spikes aswell. the 8.a is not for every genre.. for some yes.. but for the music i listen to / (electronic/ commercial crap / bollywood ost) ..it definitely doesnt deliver... i wouldnt pay 1300$ for it.. there are many better options out there for the price. JH13/16 are one of them, I can go on about many more issues .. and i know alot of people here who have gone through quite a torture dealing with heir after they bought an iem/custom,  but this is not the thread i want to do that in.... to me.. h200 is a superb piece of kit.. for the price u get an iem which is much better then what u payed .. that sort of satisfaction is something you get rarely on head fi .. so yes im glad h20 recomended it to me. im glad I bought it.. i hope it brings happiness to a few more members here..  this is completely my experience.. i dont expect any1 else to agree  and they have all the right to express their opinions. As long as u enjoy music and are happy with the gear u have even if its a 10$ iem or a 1000$ iem .. then thats all that matters.

I also do really appreciate H-200. These need a soft and mellow sounding source to sound it's best. imo.

Lol. He didn't mean it that H-200 performed better. He meant that he preferred the sound of H-200.

That is one of my main test track for sibilance because it's a subtle song and makes every change really noticeable.

Excellent.. the large mh1c tips passed the Avril torture test with flying colors! :-)

Yo Wayne! Have you tried the large black stock tips on the H200? Can you do me a favor mate? Do an A/B comparison between the MH1c large tips vs H200 large tips (black).

This song from Lifehouse have so much peak in the highs that can be a real challenge for the H200.
