T-PEOS H-200 - new triple hybrid IEM - Impressions thread

Gintaras,

I think something is lost in translation. Your English is excellent btw.

Momentum`s are a closed back portable overhead headphone, easy to drive can like an IEM, especially via the C&C BH amp. I do not own a real pair of overhead cans i.e Senn HD 700 etc.
Sony MDR-1R are the same, a portable overhead.

I'm very intrigued by these, and like always have managed to *just* miss the pre-sale, but the comments about comfort are causing me to hesitate.  I hate my UE TF10's because of their ergonomics and have come to put fit and comfort much higher than I did in the past.

As I've come to discover, the H-200's comfort is almost exclusively tip dependent. In my case, the medium size stock tips proved just a tad too small, which is why the somewhat similar, yet ever so slightly larger sized UE900 tips solved the issue altogether. If you ask me, the H-200 shares absolutely no resemblance to the TF10's rather awkward, Frankenstein-esque fit. Mind you, I'm still a fan of the TF10's sound. It's the fit/comfort that ruined it for me as well. So, I certainly wouldn't let the TF10's dissuade you from the H-200. Oh, and I should mention that I'm in the minority here, as the rest of the fellas had much better luck with the stock tips than I did.

Oof, interesting, never mind we are all humans and have different ears and .. hm.. brain burn? i have both TF10 and H200 and can tell my TF10 most likely will go on sale. i love H200 so much better here but that's just me.

I believe you misunderstood my post. All I said was, "I'm still a fan of the TF10's sound." I never said I preferred it to the H-200, because I don't. I'd take the H-200 over the TF10 any day of the week, and I did just that.

So after owning these IEMs for 2-3 weeks, I thought I should come out with a little impressions on what I thought about the H-200's.

It's not going to be a really detailed or anything, just something nice and simple:) Mainly just my brief opinion on how they perform, look and feel.

(Had bad lighting and was photo was not focused properly)

I must say, when I first got these, the first thing that I was mainly worried about was the tinny-ness in the sound that the H-100's had, would reappear in these. It was very good of T-Peos to know where they didn't excel so well in the H-100's and picked up there mistakes and improved it in the H-200's. I think T-Peos deserves some recognition for patching their flaws - good move on their part.

Being one of the members that got these babies in the first fleet of 100 people for the price of $200 was definitely worth it and non-regrettable as they are mind blowing for the price especially! Before I bought these, my main IEM was the Triple Fi 10's, and when I tried the H-200's, I found that they (to me) performed better than the Triple Fi's in most aspects, as the H-200's appear more neutral and balanced all around, whilst the TF-10's excelled in bass response.

In terms of sound (I'm not so great at explaining sound, so bear with me
tongue.gif
), I noticed that the H-200's sound VERY smooth and refined, the amount of detail present in the sound is quite detailed as some of the things that I used to not be able to make out when using my TF-10's, I could finally identify them when using the H-200's - this has been stated by a few members before. They are indeed warm-sounding as many have noticed, and the separation and clarity is of exceptional levels. I think they sound very clear, although maybe not as clear as the H-100's were, but they had flaws here and there, whilst the H-200's are harder to fault. Previously in the thread, some have stated the mids sound recessed, and some state it sounds forward, and to me, I think it's a tad bit forward as opposed to recessed. Overall, they sound very nice and controlled, not too overpowering in any aspects, nor underpowered either. I would love to do comparisons with many more IEMs, but sadly, my inventory is pretty much empty, and I do not, or have ever owned any high-end IEMs to be able to fully justify how the H-200's sound when put up against those, but I'm sure many of you's do have those and someone will do that part eventually.

The built quality of these IEMs is very sleek and look very cool. I had expected to weigh quite a bit coming from experiences with its predecessor, the H-100's, but I was quite astounded when I felt their weight upon my unboxing. So, not only are they light-weight, but they also sound amazing, and fit very nicely in my ears. Those weird oval discs do not obstruct the fit at all, but rather supports it as the back end of the oval disc fits in that small area in the back area of the inner part of the ear (I have no clue what's it called, but it helps!).

This part (some ear I found off Google Images)

Anyways, I run the H-200's with my C3 unamped, and my iPod Nano 3rd gen with the C&C BH amp. I don't have anything mid-high tier to use these IEMs to their full potential, so don't judge me on my explanation haha

To clear things up, my overall summarised general thoughts on the H-200's is that they're great neutral-sounding IEMs, come at an affordable price - in a nice royal-like box, a fair amount of accessories to play around with, and they look very nice!

Great read, SkyBleu! Couldn't have said it better myself, especially the following:
