Denial is an ugly thing Gintaras.... wink.gif

i am afraid you are conceptually incorrect, the fact that CA350 cannot drive Cremonas does not make Cremonas bad, the fact that your VStudio cannot drive up RDB+v1 to full extent does not mean v1 is bad tongue.gif

I think you're completely missing the point Gintaras,

I never said RDB+ v1 was a bad earphone, it's highly capable you can re-read my review on it here to refresh your memory

What I am saying however is I find H-200 superior in some areas. namely the mid range coherency and If I'm going to add more there's a slight absence in the lower mid range which makes it sound 'almost' but not quite a little sucked out. (listen for the vocals). This is not battle of the sources, I can run both earphones through a benchmark Sansa Clip+ and the same results will apply. You're suggesting I find H-200 completely superior which is not the case at all.

At the end of the day, I'm still comparing them and will report how I find them in their entirety. I would not come into the thread and risk my credibility just to stir one person up, that would be completely stupid. What I stated is fact after many hours comparing, I would not come in here and speak blindly.

There's no hard feeling mate simply I hear H-200 pulling off some things better, why would I come in this thread and dismiss the very IEM I own and love.... redface.gif

Gintaras - h2o was trying to say something totally different to what ur thinking, some iems are source dependant or have better synergy with particular sources.. so he was just stating that the h200+c3+bh combo is a good one and u haveto spend much more $$ to get a better effect with the v1 (ie rwak/studioV) ... Anakchan tried the tralucent uber cable with the v1 & the 1plus2 and thought that they sounded very very similar, so it is a possibility that the v1 scale better with better sources / better cable..  i know both u guys own the v1's, and i know u both love them, hell they r on my to buy list aswell. lol but what were discussing right now is a 200$ earphone giving some of the mid/high end models a run for their money. now u may have different views on that but thats the whole point of head-fi .. we learn new things everyday.

btw - these sound awesome right off a s3 aswell .. im only listening to 320k mp3's though redface.gif

Well, that's rather strange, don't you think? How do you intend to put a ring on it if her fingers are crossed? wink.gif

Seriously though, hope it all goes according to plan.

On another note, my H200 is scheduled to arrive today. I'll report back with initial impressions after an hour or so of listening. smily_headphones1.gif

bingo, this is exactly what i was saying in my several posts, scroll a few days back, and i stand by all of them. C3+BH+H200 = magic magic magic

anyway, i do not doubt credibility of H20 opinion, actually i trust him a lot which makes my wallet cry unhappily wink_face.gif

i just love v1 as much and find it superior for me in all aspects, i love analogue like smoothness and implementation of v1 which i hear is just superior. H200 is magic phone too. i love both and happily listen to both, depending on my mood.

and you absolutely right, sometimes synergy is just everything and talking price points makes little sense.

but, between us, i suspect H20 just wants to be friends with my wallet, this is why he now talks cheaper is better... i looked back and my wallet puts a wide smile all over his .... shall i call it face??? now he loves H20 tongue.gif

Synergy, now this is something I really agree with. you are passing a current from A to B and you need the signal to be as clean as possible.

So for me it is important to have a good source/cable/amp that helps keeping the signal unhindered.

Sinth, jokes aside H20 is right, H200 is damn good sounding IEM and a lot of fun listening to it. One of the best purchases of portable gear i ever made.

Oof, welcome to the club :-D

How does the sound signature compare to the Sony XBA 3/30? I'm really hoping this is finally the upgrade I'm looking for...
no idea. Never had Sony IEMs. but if you read H20 review you get some good idea and his description is pretty accurate.

Going off memory, the XBA-30 has a more pronounced bass (midbass) boost than the H-200.. the H-200 has a clearer, more neutral midrange, better imaging.. and a more linear treble response.

Officially in my ears now, and after only a few tracks in, color me impressed. Their tonal balance is simply wonderful; just the perfect blend of sub-bass and midbass, mids have just the right touch of presence, and the treble is not the least bit offensive. Soundstage seems to have much greater width than depth, panning out at either extreme. Even so, depth isn't lacking by any means. All in all, where first impressions are concerned, I'll say this: an absolute steal at this price. I can't say I've heard better for $200, that's for sure.

However... there's one real turn off for me. There is a significant amount of driver flex on either side, which is most apparent upon initially inserting them. As soon as they're properly inserted in place, however, it's no longer an issue.

Back to the music...

I just got my XBA-30 today, only listened to it for a couple of hours, straight out of the box, to me the detail and clarity is not as good as the H-200, XBA-30 sounds warmer. For me I prefer the H-200.

FlySweep you have a good memory, thats's pretty accurate and how I'm finding it too but the XBA-30 to me has a slightly wider soundstage.

I've been wondering where putente has been also. He hasn't logged into Headfi for weeks. Hope he's okay.
