Creative SB X--Fi Titanium HD incorrectly shows 7.1

The sound card I have is in the title. It only supports 2 channel stereo. True 5.1 is useless on this card and is only available via optical out. 7.1 is not even mentioned on this card, but is mentioned in tech specs from newegg and some other online retail stores. 

 

Why does windows show 7.1 connections for my card? I took a screenshot here http://oi47.tinypic.com/19y148.jpg

Good question, but what's really relevant is what's under the "Configure" button. There, you'll only see stereo and 5.1 options, no 7.1.

 

Not that I notice the missing side channels with CMSS-3D Headphone at all; it's still a very capable card, so long as you only need two channels of analog output.
