I've come across a nice Pangea power cable for a song and wonder if it's best to add it to my dac or amp. I have the lyr and bifrost.

thanks...

No difference in power chords. IME. Place it in either.

Hi Matt,

Recently I got this:

http://signalcable.com/silverresolutionpower.html

I connected it first to my mjolnir...then ,the seller suggested I try it on my gungnir.."for best results"

I  heard no real difference,,.

YMMV..?

Mike

I'd try both and leave it where your rig sounds the best. Whatever model it is, it's overkill (in terms of current delivery) for either.

Thanks guys...I'll try both and see if I can make out any difference. The cable was a gimmie so no skin lost either way.

Well, if you can, then clearly your brain has tricked you! tongue.gif

Report your findings.

I am somewhat skeptical about using the cable due to the weight. A garden hose would shriek in terror if it were to see this cable in a back alley. Seriously, I am concerned about the strain of the weight against the power connect on my dac. I was able to fashion a makeshift strain relief to try it out.

I can not perceive any difference either plugged into the dac or amp. I suppose that I could plug it in my pc just to add a manly and intimating character to it. wink.gif

Could you please tip the placebo scale in favor of a positive outcome. Geezzzzz...

Strain relief is always a must, if it's something you see becoming permanent.

Matt, dude, ya gotta seriously believe. Maybe you can start all over, and this time anticipate such a drastic difference, it would be hard to believe.

Okay, this time I conducted a double blind test and I was able to discern decay of sound more significantly on the new cable 6 out of 10 times. The other four times I fell asleep listening for the difference. redface.gif

I don't know what you're implying, Mike. But yeeeeeeeeehawwwww! Drink IT.

On another note, my power cable will be incoming tomorrow. 14ft white. I needed a custom length and it matches most of my Schiit and

peripherals, etc. I don't expect a improvement in SQ. But I have just enough time to psyche myself up out.

You dont know that for sure--remember,with all my placebo changes, power cord, silver interconnects, new AC plug...maybe,maybe 3-5% ???,& only if the wind is coming from the SE?

Get it plugged in,let it run for 50 hours, then see

It sure is a nice looking cable, nice price too.

Cable's in. looks better in person, good workmanship, and no change in SQ. Just a lot lengthier which is what I needed.

We'll see in 100 hours.
