My kid sister recently 'inherited' some records and has nothing to play them on! She's not an audiophile in even the slightest bit, and all attempts to convert her to one have failed pretty miserably. Still, she's in love with the romance of owning records, and would like something to play them on--preferably something small and transportable. Most of the records she inherited are LPs from the 60s and 70s (including some Beatles!), and it's all in pretty varying degrees of shape. There are a few singles here and there, as well.
I'd like to surprise her with a decent little portable record player--sound quality isn't of huge importance, but the ability to play the records at the correct speed is, as is durability and ease of use. Anyone have any recommendations?
