its like an attachment you can add to certain audio players like foobar or mediamonkey

there are many dsp's out there that you can use to alter sound, the h82 is the best i've found to add bass without having to add any additional eq

real bass exciter is also a free dsp you can try out for foobar that can add a @#$load of bass to the desired frequencies you want

but for added bass, whats the difference between that, and just using electriQ with foobar? with an equalizer i can control exactly how much bass/sub bass/both im boosting. assuming you equalize properly, ie, subtract from the other frequencies and not boost the bass, how much better does it get?

u can use that, i do to from time to time, but i very much prefer the h82 dsp to eq'ing, i use that with most of my phones even the lcd-2's

i just really like the amount of bass it boosts and the overall signature, theres never any clipping and it doesnt muddy up the bass or make it bleed into other frequencies

its like mach 3 bass setting on cowon players, if you've ever heard them then you can expect something similar from the h82

lol btw, i hate electri q, setting it up is too much of a hassle for me, playing with dots and curves, i cant wrap my head around it, so more power to you if you do lol

lol, a member of the forum explained it to me. i dont how to use all the functions, but i know how to cut down other frequencies - which is all i need, cause thats how i boost the bass.

iv never used cowon players, but it sounds to me like the h8s is just eq presets, i dont like those because they dont allow complete control. i guess you could say im a bit of a freak, i often eq each song i listen to seperately, depending on the song itself. thank you for the explanation though, cheers

Its a fine little amp... But for portable use you can do better, since it is both a dac and an amp, and I can't use that feature on the go. I'm using it as my primary amp for now

Yes, by all accounts the DACMagic Plus has a pretty decent headphone jack.
It may not be the world's greatest, but for the money the DACMagic Plus has a very good feature set, including balanced line out jacks.

Note: Also if you look at the XB1000s freq response it rolls off quite heavily compared to the XB500 and XB700 in the sub bass area. Still bitter with these headphones =/

Hmm that was not so good... Was think it was Some bass from them... Mabe gona try and sell them...
