What custom are you using it with?

I use Aurisonics AS-1's and AS-2's. Both have generic versions (ASG-1, and the ASG-2) The ASG-2 is to be launched at NAMM this coming week. Both pair really nicely. I make full use of the different tunings of the headphone jacks with both of them. I think the important thing about finding the right headphones for the Tera Player is taking any set of headphones or IEM's and listening to them at 1 or 2 volume levels above your comfort and if they really open up the soundstage and overall experience, then you've found the right headphones. That's how the PortaPro's are for me

I see. So the tera powered your AS quite well huh. .. I'm just worried because some custom really need huge power to drive them to make them shine.

Tera player handles the Yuin PK1's well (allegedly, talk to HiFlight) which are 150 Ohm's so it should have that much trouble. AS-'as have a dual BA in them and a dynamic driver

Which version is your tera Ken?
I hope the v0 will do its job driving SE5.

I got a v1 since a couple of weeks. No, SE5 here. I do have the following headphones to try them with:

  • Earsonics SM3 v2
  • Sennheiser CX 980
  • Audez'e LCD-2, a very recent one
  • AKG K701
  • and of course a pair of Koss Porta Pros

The LCD-2's I play on max volume which is sufficient, but without any headroom. Same for the AKG's actually. They sound good, but if you like real loud music even the v1's won't be sufficient.

For the IEMs and the Koss PP they are great.

Anyone else notice improved audio quality with Tera at max volume going into an amp? Using a small portable amp and i feel like I have so much more micro-details. impressive just got to a new level for me

Yep. Definitely sound better with my T1 amps. More sub bass and clarity overall.

Good, so it's not just me. Now to test out portable amps that are small so i can get max performance on the go

You could never go wrong with tralucent T1. It's very neutral yet musical. .. brings out the best out of the tera player; shigezo highly regards it too at touch my apps.

I'm looking more for form factor. not a big deal about finding an amp though, I'm thinking maybe just find a nice little desktop amp and get the most out of my Tera Player only when at home.

I can now post in this thread having bought musicday's Tera Player biggrin.gif

I like what I hear but am slightly unnerved having read in the manual that the warranty is only valid with a guarantee certificate, which he claims never to have received.  Did anyone get one or is Charles just getting ahead of himself?  The manaul also mentions resellers, and there aren't any of them yet...
