This is the only pocketable one....Their are others that are portable. The Studio V doesnt seem that large and the AK100 is definitely a small high-end player.

Does anyone else find it weird that this is the only high end DAP that is actually portable? The others are all massive, fugly, bricks.

In any case I like the form factor, and maybe I am one of the few that likes the simple industrial orange text.

The Tera is most certainly pocketable. The Studio V is closer to the size of the AK100. I prefer the Tera to both players, by a sizeable margin.

Haven't heard those players yet, so I can't say, but the DX100 is thinner and otherwise relatively the same size as my iPod+amp setup I used to use. The HM-801 is probably the biggest joke of a portable player though. That thing is a tank. I have cassette players smaller than that. The new HiFiMan is however, a nice improvement in the size category. Held a demo unit at a Meet up last year and I wouldn't mind owning one if it sounds as good as it is an overall product. I'll find out a head to head of the Tera vs HM-901 at the NYC Meet Up April 20th

I look forward to your impressions of that comparison.

I hope someone has a AK100. Their is gonna be a HiFiMan HM-901 (hopefully, since headdirect will be there and they had a demo unit last year) and a DX100 and my Tera Player. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Tera Player presents music unlike any other DAP. The sense of realism, correctness and proportions is breathtaking. Also the ease of presentation is unmatched normal_smile%20.gif!!!

I also like the simple industrial text. The Tera just suits me since I do not need a screen, and it sounds so good. I was also surprised at how good it looks in person, after some of the comments in other threads. The whole unit is so small that the text is not actually that large or ungainly. Definitely not as large as it looks in a close up picture on here!

Are you using it with the T1? Does it improve with the T1 biggrin.gif?

No...I haven't even thought about amping the Tera yet....for IEMs I think it sounds just great as istongue_smile.gif

What I find quite extraordinary is that the Tera Player makes ever IEM that I have sound damn great!!

Can't wait for the MH335DW and the SE5 to come in. I am hoping the FitEars will arrive at the end of next week....

Before the Tera, I had specific DAPs for different IEMs, but all the IEMs just sound better out of the Tera Player especially the ToGo 334. Been listening to the 8A for the last 3 hours, which is a first!!!

I may even try the 6A tomorrow. Only spent 15-30 minutes with them so far and that was when I first received them over a month ago............
