That might be enough for me, but I also like to block the noise of wind, and we do have a lot of sightseeing helicopters and airplanes here in beautiful Sedona. But it is nice to have a backup plan if I do not like the DT770s.

Do the ATs leak music out into the environment? My wife and I have very different taste in music smile.gif

I saw the spec of the tera player and notice that it uses a 16 bit dac. In theory it will only take 16 bit and leave the extra 8 bits if you play a 24 bit file. Can you hear differences between 24 bit file and a 16 bit one? I'm planning to convert everything to 16 bit wav to save space in the sd card.

I can't hear the difference, if there is any. Not only does it save space it also makes your battery last longer.

I can empathise about the wind as it's very flat and exposed here in the Fens, so we often have howling gales and blustery conditions. The cans don't leak much at all and I've used them whilst my wife reads nearby without comment, and her hearing is very acute!

The DT1350 would be another possible option if you like the Beyerdynamic house sound.

Cheers,

Andy.

I find Senn Momentum isolate really good. Very comfortable as well.

Have you guy's, who are looking for compatible headphones, checked out the Altmann recommended Koss Porta-Pro's??

They sure seem like a good (and inexpen$ive) place to start.

Koss porta pro has close to no isolation at all. I had two of those before but my colleague found it annoying. Hehe.

Yes, I have a pair of modded Porta-Pros, but as Jazzyfi says, they do not isolate well. I will report back on my experience with the DT770-LE.

What IEM's have you owners found optimal? I am loving my TP/ie800 combo(and that's putting it mildly), but have been reading some positive impressions about the piano forte series. Any comments or comparisons from those that have listened to other equivalent/better iem's with the Tera?

I really enjoy the Tera/PFE232 pairing. Probably my favorite IEM of all that I own.

Pairing it with piano forte x and I can listen to that combo for hours and hours... Just sounds too good to be true.

Ace8888, how come you have such a large ridge on the top edge of fascia above the screw?

I know I sound like one of the many crazed Tera owners on here, but I was just listening to the Tera with my new iCAN amp and HD650 headphones, and I swear it is the best sound I have ever heard on headphones and even speakers! There, I am officially guilty of overhyping this little player! I feel much better now that I got that out of my system tongue.gif

It has always been that way? My previous TP also looks exactly like that.
