Well, according to the weather network, today was along the lines of -24C, Feels like -35C (wind chill factor and all that accounted) here in Montreal. The cables withstood the cold just fine, granted I wasn't tugging on it to try and break it.
But yes, the aluminum housing haha... Despite wearing my tuque (or toque, if you like it) over my ears, being anything but wind-proof at some point I felt my ears were starting to hurt a tiny bit, probably from the aluminum housing being cold.
Wouldn't want to imagine the temperatures in the northernmost areas of Canada; this must be regular temperature for some of them.
But, "feels like" -35C and I also did over half hour of walking outside. Cables did not really suffer from the cold, and that's what matters ;)
I didn't check if they've gotten nice and stiff with the temperature but most do anyway.
