Maverick Audio Tubemagic D1 or Schiit Magni and Modi as entry level setup? - Page 3

Tequilasunriser is right.

I'll have to disagree on the whole 5 minutes thing. I can do it in under a minute. evil_smiley.gif

Beat that !

P.S. Buy the cheaper option, and get your op-amps elsewhere. They're cheap, and you could request free samples from Texas Instruments.

I bought a D1 then added a Magni so I could run the D1's tube out into it. Last week I ordered a Modi and the D1 is going to be sold. That being said the D1 is great, Modi & Magni are so small they'll fit just about anywhere you want them. My plan is to use the M&M set up at home and eventually upgrade to a Bifrost/Vahalla rig. Then the M&M will go to work.

I really like the versatility of the Maverick Tubemagic. Something the M&M doesn't offer is the combination of a pre-amp output and using it as a Headphone amplifier. I like to switch between my loudspeakers or headphones without rewiring. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a schiit lyr which also has pre-amp out.
