I don't watch movies, so I guess I will never know and will never be an audiophile then.... tongue.gif

I'd consider myself more a hopeless geek with an outrageously maddening penchant for noticing irritatingly small details

I'm leaning closer and closer to that conculsion my self as well,

Also I'm an audiophile so I can enjoy rock with one can and Classical with another ;3. Gatta have a perfectly Synergized can for each!

Very cool listening to Seven [BiNural] From the Explorations in Space and Time Album

And honestly... the... imagaing of the w1000x despite being closed is more real imo. The Dt 990 is HUGELY wide but not as tall... it's almost too wide for this track, as the percusion loses some of it's distance based impact

i was thinking about film eqs whilst watching the hobbit last night and when it got to the scene where thorin got up to challenge azok and the music started playing, it sounded like there the eq was an upside down v (this was without headphones mind you and it might have been the tv speakers)

I used to have longish hair but I got it cut short so that my Lindy Premiums would seal better

why interested in the dt880, looking for a neutral-ish sound signature? are you recabling it so it can be a balanced headphone? what amps are you looking at then? and i may need an amp too... im currently going amp-less at the moment. i run everything just out of my ibasso dx100. the headphone im currently using right now is the dt990 pro 250ohm, the bass is a bit excessive in quantity and i wish it can sound smoother, other than that, not much complain.

I've owned the Dt 880 before, hands down my favorite can! And No I'm not recableing it. I'm acutally going to buy a Recabled dt 880 600 ohm used from a member [hopefully] for a DIRT cheap price. And at some point I do want to run an all balanced set up out of the sPdif on my PC. Figured hey I need a dt 880, this one is CHEAP and already recabled to be balanced. Kill two birds one stone! it is a Signle Ended 4pin XLR, which means I can use the [Xlr to 1/4" adapter than it comes with] but in the future I'll need to hit Zombie up for a cheap 4pin to dual 3 pin adapter. Not an issue really'

I'm im a mad dash to get the cash for the can to as I friggin swear it's going to sell fast [unless ppl are deaf and blind <3]

Also I'm not the bass head I used to be :[ +6 bass is way to much for me... it's kinda eww not my thing any moar [at least on the k550] Oh yea, the Dt 990 does much better with all dat BASS, than the k550 does. The k550 just sounds funny with all dat BASS

I swear to gawd I must have been deaf in a past life. How i ever enjoyed +10 bass is beyound me... even at +6 nu Tune just sounds horribly over bassy

nice, i dont think i will ever run an all balanced setup myself but then can never be too sure about that... im just not sure if going balanced is the worth the extra money and effort. the k550, i have listened to it but dont own it, i have not tried boosting the bass up so i dont know how it will sound like if bass is boosted on the k550. i dont mess with the eq, if i want a different eq, i may just switch gears but thats me. i think sound signatures require getting used to, so if you go back to boosted bass for a while, you will probably get used to it again, i would think...
