Dang that's a lot of customs fee.

Adding it all up this would cost me almost as much as what I paid for my HE500, yeesh.

HE500 is $700 isn't it? MM stack with PYST cables cost total ~$350, just half of what HE500 would

Has anybody used the M-100 with the M&M stack? Im considering the magni and Modi for home use. Also I've been considering the HE-400 my pair of cans for use at home, how does it match up with the M&M stack?

Just received my M&M stack. Initial impressions after opening the box was that they're very "cute" :). Looks great and they're tiny! The Magni puts out gobs of power, but its quite a noisy amp. A lot of background hum/hiss when volume is turned down or no music is playing.

I'm not an audiophile by any means. Just love listening to music. Currently driving Sennheiser hd598 and Beyerdynamis DT880.

Hmm. mine is dead silent when no music is on.

What source do you have it connected to?

I have it connected to my MacBook Pro. It may be my cabling so I will have to double check them.

Also could be electrical noise from the wall socket magni is plugged into. I had a big problem with a powerline adapter in same room as magni and it caused a ton of static and also made me pick up a usb ground loop. When i removed it all the noise including usb case loop went away.

I think the problem is with the macbook's soundcard. Laptops don't have a really great built in soundcard.

Something you might want to check is whether you don't have the option 'listen to microphone' enabled. ;) You can check this in the settings or listen to your headphones while tapping where the microphone is.

Computers can be noisy. You should try with another source to try to find out if it's actually the Magni that's the problem. If it is I would contact Schiit for a solution.

It would be interesting to know if this is actually the case, as mine has the low volume imbalance. I would hope Schiit would let people know. Perhaps that's hoping a lot.
