As of now, most likely. haven't seen the reviews yet, but schiit never really disappoints

They're practically giving this schiit away! It's gonna be funny seeing rca cables take up more space than this amp/dac stack itself biggrin.gif

i wonder if a linear power supply would improve much over the wall wart for the MAGNI.

Just make sure it's AC not DC.

Oh wow. Thanks for giving me a headache. I want this so badly, but precisely because the Modi is so cheap, shipping is nearly half the darned price of this thing. So tempted to get this for my near-field rig.

BTW, both their casings have a finish that looks pockmarked, kinda like leather from some angles, looking at the pictures. Looks different from the sexy brushed casings on your higher-end stuff. I guess its needed to cut costs. Or are my eyes fooling me, and they have the same finish?

You must live far away. Shipping only costed me $6. However... that $9 tax... right in the kissa.

It's mentioned that it's steel casings instead of brushed aluminum.  I'm familiar with that type of finish that's used on the casing I think, it looks like steel with an orange-peel type paint cover.  I say orange-peel because of the small dimple patterning in it, I'm not talking about the acoustic popcorn type patterning used on interior walls :P.  I once had a weight-set that was the same way with a dimple-patterning.  It's most likely susceptible to chipping at the edges, so I'd becareful handling these compared to their brushed aluminum counterparts.

Well i am in. I'll start with the DAC to pair with my Lyr.

this is a must have for me --since I have 30 headphones and not all of them work well with Lyr, which produce quite some background noise on a lot of the low impedence high sensitivity cans I have, including ad900, but Jason, could you update the resellers in anyway for them to be available on Amazon? That is where I bought the Lyr Bifrost USB, even though after a year I decided to finally buy a MF vlink 192 to utilize the spdif advantage...but that's another topic...and back to the topic..I hate to have to buy it straight from the website, although I would not mind---I mean I will have fund to make the purchase in about 2 weeks and before then I will have more reviews on these nice pairs but other than that I am surely buying them

I am pretty sure that if you wouuld have the Schiit pyst cables also available on Amazon I would buy another pair...and maybe some recomended tubes for Lyr that are even better than the 88cc? I dunno, haven't check the gigantic tube roller thread.

This past black friday has seen record 1 billion internet sales, mostly from Amazon electronics... That is where most people take advantage of the 1 year or so free shipping and then continue to pay 1 year free shipping at around 40 bucks, that includes a schiit ton of headphones, dacs like the DAC-1, I saw some bursons, I am sure there are many more out there, amps, and accesories available. Not that most headphiles necessarily buy their cans there, but honestly it's not a market to ignore.

oh and did I mention that the Fiio honestly suck in quality? my e7 and e9 suffer from easily fragile dock, easily retarded battery life, yet the Lyr has no problem whatsoever, it's built like a tank!

Big props to sending out this original and truly amazing product before the high end bomb drops! I myself will probably not go to that extent, since it really defeats the purpose of Schiit as a brand that does not break the bank yet produce truly amazing quality MADE IN USA goodies! It's like the Cannondale(before 2009 they still made in USA) of audiophile equipment versus brands like TREK and SPECIALIZED.
