Need new IEM to replace a set eaten by my dog...

Hi everybody!

 

This is my fist post on this forum. First let me excuse myself for my english, I live in Montreal and english is my first language (I speak french).

 

I need your advices because I want to replace my Etymotic HF5 that my dog ate mad.gif...

 

I first wanted to buy the exact same thing, maybe the HF3 to go with my iPhone, than I decided to look around in order to see if I could upgrade while replacing my old «dog-chewed» set.

 

I ordered a pair of XBA-4 at 215$ but I'm not sure if I want to keep them. They are really different from my Ety HF5 which I find now that were a little bit flat, lacking in bass response comparing to the XBA-4... but this is from memory since I can't compare both of them. I do love the soudstage and layering of the XBA, but I find them a little bit dark compared to the Ety HF5.

 

I'm wondering if maybe I should get de XBA-3, which a lot of you seem to find better than the XBA-4, of maybe something else? My budget is around 200-250$.

 

I've seen the VSonic GR07 on sale at 180$, are they really better than the XBA?
