I want to et my first set of real legit cans. So, I was looking at the beyerdynamics dt-990 pro, I could get them for a reasonable price. so will they work with Hip/Hop, Rock, and Electronic music? I've looked at the ATH-M50's which seem to have a cult of people surrounding them, the Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro (liked because of the bass slider.) Any recommendations for that type of music?

If your ok with open headphones and have a decent headphone amp.

I would say get the DT990, they have a lot of "life" to their sound, like movie theater type audio sound.
