Buy them used like new off seller adgtron on Amazon. They will run you about $240.

No box will be included but all the accessories are and you can't beat the Momentums at that price.

Momentums seem to have gotten a lot of attention. Do you happen to know how it compares to the HD650? I didn't like the HD650 and the sound was too "dark" for me. (Sorry OP, feels like I might be somewhat hijacking your thread here but at least you had already made your decision? redface.gif)

Of course you can and by several different ways.

That's all good man,

your keeping this forum alive :)

I did consider getting the Momentums lol but the reason i chose the 1R's was the price, i got the 1R's for like AU$247 compared to the Momentums AU$399 or $349.99 on amazon. Another major reason why i chose the 1R's was the comfortability,

I might consider the Momentums if my 3rd pair of 1R's have the same issues. Iv'e been having issues with every pair so far. It's either has the rattle issue or they arrive with scuff marks on the ear cups right out of the box.

Unfortunately the 1R's are my first pair of headphones ever so i can't compare anything to the HD650's :(

a_recording's opinion on the 7520 up against the MDR-1R

"My opinion on the 7520 is just based on the fact that I have the Z1000 which should be identical. The MDR-1R is darker than the 7520 with a cleaner sound and a more solid bass response. The 7520 has a good tone for acoustic but isn't technically a great performer because it can sound a bit congested / raw, and the bass is pretty flabby."

Z1000 isn't identical to the 7520. I'm a fan of tight bass and the 7520 is anything but flabby. I'm happy with it enough to the point of using it as my main portable full size headphone. It beat out the T70 and K550 and Edition 8 because I was always afraid to take those outside :P

Edit:

After spending the weekend with the 7520, I can see where someone might say the bass is flabby. It is much better controlled and tighter than other headphones out there so I don't think it's fair to say it's flabby though. I still like it enough to keep them (for now). If I still decide to keep them in 2 months, then they're definitely the pair for me and I'll stop looking for a while.

Hey everyone,

Just an update. As i mentioned earlier, i have had some issues with the 1R's Quality control and i am now receiving my 3rd pair soon.

I Also organised as a back-up if I'm still not happy with the 1R's that Harvey Norman has ordered one pair of Momentums in black with no cost to me. So when they arrive i can test hear both and decide what ones i like the most but there's no pressure if i choose not to get them.
