Headphones to get in the $100-$200 range?

I originally was going to pick up a pair of AGK K 601's but I had heard it really leans towards other genres than what I listen to.

I listen to things like Primus, Beck, Buckethead, The Melvins, QOTSA, The Dead Kennedys, Cpt. Beefheart, and the Mr. Bungle.

Also, I do occasionally listen to electronic music although I follow Rock/Sludge Metal/Punk ALOT more.

So what headphones in the $100-$200 range would be worth it? (I am willing to extend my budget some ONLY if it is worth it)

It would help to know what your going to plug the headphones into?

Completely sorry that I never mentioned that.

I''ll probably end up buying a FiiO E9 unless there is better in its price range.

EDIT: And I'll probably end up buying the E7 USB DAC/Portable amp

I looked more into Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO (250 Ohms)

Could they do the job?

Mr. Bungle..... California.... Love it.... If you're in the mood for trippy, circus, surf music. smily_headphones1.gif

I'd vote for the Sennheiser HD598, or if you have a powerful enough amp to drive them the Beyer DT880/600 (and only the 600 ohm model. The DT880/250 doesn't sound as good.). But you need ample power to drive them properly and I'm not sure the E9 is up to the task. The HD598 are a safe bet though and sound very good for the price.
