I'm building a new computer. The onboard sound is Realtek.
On my current rig I had an Xtreme Music X-Fi card, but it had so many driver issues and BSOD's I stopped using it. The difference between onboard sound and the sound card was noticeable.
I can't decide whether to go for just a low end Asus card, a mid range one, or get the Asus ST (Or STX which I heard wasn't as good but might be more adaptable in the future since it is PCI-E and the ST uses PCI) or to try Creative again with the Titanium HD I see on sale for $125.
My setup is:
ATH-AD700's
Senheisser HD598's
The speakers I will be using are to be determined. You'll probably see my other thread on here asking for recommendations on a speaker set to get. Right now I'm leaning toward the Swan MKIII's if it makes a difference.
I'll be using the speakers 80% of the time most likely and the headphones 20%.
Gaming 45% Watching videos 30% and listening to music 25%
