You mean how do they sound after I replace the round disc with stretchable fabric? They sound the same but I no longer worry about disintegrating foam. The fabric is so thin and I do not think it will veil the sound :)

I just got my brand spankin' new phones yesterday. I was a little skeptical that amazon was selling new 650's for 80-100 dollars less, though. No risk in it being fake, right?

Just for quotation, I sent Sennheiser distributor in Singapore a mail for pricing. I get this reply:

"For HD 650 Pricing the headband cushion : $120.00"

The vendors on amazon are pretty safe. Never had a single problem in 10 years. Plus you have amazon backing you up...

Put the headphones in the Amazon shopping cart.  Amazon plays with the prices , sometimes daily.

I'm tempted to try a pair. I had comfort issues with my HD600's(too tight)I had a couple of years ago, but I didn't have them long and I assume fit would improve with time.
