For pure gaming purposes; mostly fps shooters like black ops 2 and all that.

I really can't recommend much for $50. I would suggest you save up a little more and get a really high quality one, because for $50, you might be disappointed.

The only one I know of and I personally recommend is the Skullcandy SLYR. Click on the link on my sig, see if it's for you.

Turtle beach x11 are OKAY but I would recommend saving for better headphones

If you can find a pair, I recommend the Orpheus HE 90.  Otherwise, the Stax SR-009 really lets you get the leg up on all the kids using turtle beach headphones.

Are you using a Mixamp or anything?  Or are you just hooking it up to your tv/xbox?  For about $75, I would probably say the Razer Carcharias 2013 edition.  They're an open headset and they include the wires necessary to use it for the 360.  If you want to spend a little less, the Turtle Beach X12's are decent for about $60.
