NEW MOBILE SITE. Bugs and Suggestions please post here

Thread Starter
I am starting this thread because I primarily use Head-Fi from a mobile device (ipad). I thought it would be a nice idea to keep one thread with bugs/fixes/suggestions relating to the mobile site so that Jude and the Team can easily get it (at least for a couple of weeks)

First I would like to acknowledge Jude and the Head Fi team for the new site which I think is really well thought out and very easy to use. Jude gave props to Huddler's teams for doing a great job.

If this thread turns out to be useful what I intend to do is simple. When posts are made of bugs (and some but not alll suggestions) I will add them to a list in the OP. If I get a confirmation a bug or suggestion has been addressed I will try to note it. Please try to keep any suggestions to a minimum as I am sure they are working on expanding and adding features.

BUGS:

1. (using ipad3)Problem with "quote and reply" button not updating page for user resulting in multiple posts. [Forwarded by admin -joe]
2. (using PC) TwinQY reports similar issues with quotes. Quotes being deleted or invisible on multi quote.
3. (using phone?) rawster reports trouble logging on in mobile version, had to log in on desktop version. Tried multiple browsers.
4. (using ipad) Problem with a thread with lots of embeded videos crashing browser DETAILS HERE
5. IpodPJ also has mobile site related triple post here. [Joe asks for info to recreate this error]
6. (using nexus7/chrome/andriod)jgray91 reports links from subscription page doesn't always jump to first unread for subscribed threads. [this bug reported as fixed on dec-6-12]

SUGGESTIONS:

1. Smileys button to be added to reply box. [forwarded by admin -- Joe]
2. randomkid- Being able to load more post history from users main page (add page buttons)
2a. randomkid- Pls add post count since last view on subscribed/viewed threads.
3. ipodPJ- Add view count like main site in addition to post count of threads
4. jgray91 - Add custom title and signature to posts.
5. Jgray suggests making reply boxes bigger. (Doc agrees biggrin.gif)

I've reported your bug and we'll also send along your suggestion of adding the smileys button.

Thanks, Doc!

Another suggestion, instead of just a dark blue dot for replies in threads, actually say how many replies after your last post.

And allow me to load more posts on my profile, thanks

Great work guys

Yes that pretty much it, on the normal site you have posts and at the bottom the button More to load more posts. he me how many replies after the last time I checked the thread would be excellent

I think it works great.  The only thing I'd add is a spot where it shows the number of thread views and not just the number of replies, as it does on the main site.

Thank you sir for taking note.

Edit: BTW guys I just accidentally discovered a pretty cool mobile feature. I was editing the OP and was able to reply to this message in the middle of my edit at the same time without losing the text I had typed into the edit. Multitasking....smily_headphones1.gif nice.

Doc forced me to post this here, I've already posted it somewhere else, but again, since Doc forced me...Did I mention that Doc forced me? I'm not doing this on my own free will, he forced me. With force.

I've also had some problems with quotes in general:
1. Multi-quoting something simply cuts off the quoted text for one of the quotes I picked out.
2. Sometimes the quotes don't even appear, and I'm unable to input anything in the reply box since the "invisible quotes" are taking up all the space.
Otherwise, everything's become very convenient. Love this version so much that I'm using it over the desktop version on my desktop.

If anyone else has had this problem...

I have one suggestion unless it's already there but I haven't seen it. I would like an option where you can skip to any sub forum similar to the desktop version where you have a drop down box and a list of the different forums (headphones, amps, sources, etc.)

Also I'm not sure if others have gotten this or not but I was trying to login under the mobile headfi but was unable to login with two different browsers. My username and password was correct but when I changed to desktop on phone the login worked.

They actually did a pretty good job of making finding the subforums qickly though it isnt a dropdown. Hit the button in the top left hand corner of any thread page. Then touch forums. All of the subforums are quickly displayed and IMO they are easier to find than the original version.

I will note this in the bugs. Thanks.

#4 on the list.

Threads embeded with videos... I was reading through the all too mentally stimulating thread Rap Sucks and found that it kept crashing my browser. There are a lot of video's embedded there and it seems that it can't decide to show the full size video window on my ipad3 or a smaller mobile version of the video. Once enough videos were embedded I simply could not load the page at all without a crash.

Thanks.
