Hi everyone

I am fairly new to this website sorry if i posted in the wrong section :P

Ok so i am just about the average listener, not really an audiophile compared to many of you guys out there. I am actually very into sound however the thing is i never had the time to sit down on a computer and do my research.

What i currently have is the klipsch s4 which is great and the beats studios (i know, i am ashamed of myself too) and i am willing to make an investment on audio for around $700 just on headphones so that will give you a basic idea of what i am coming from

Now that i have done 3 hours of painful researching i have found some headphones that might be what i need

what i have came up with is
t90 or t70
hd650
k701
d7000
d5000
w1000x
or maybe hd700

i have read tons of reviews on these headphones but never seemed to understand the technical terms like "colorful" or "cold" i just want to have headphones that are excellent sounding

i perfer headphones that have less bass and really focuses on vocals and the highs. i mainly listen to alternative rock, jazz or vocals. i have tried the hd800 and thought they were a pair of outstanding headphones and i loved its signature(or whatever its called)

open or closed it doesnt really matter but i do perfer closed since i would like to travel with them smily_headphones1.gif but if it is open and sound much better i am willing to sacrifice the portibility

i will appreciate any suggestions
thanks

If you love the HD800,  then try K701. Of all the listed headphones, they're the most similar to HD800's in terms of sound signature and overall sound presentation. Write the D5000, D7000, HD650 off, because they're complete opposites. HD700 and T90 would probably be to your liking as well based on their reviews.  Closed headphones with similar sound signature to HD800's would be Shure SRH-940, but they're not quite in the same league as others you've listed.
