Looking for better sounding/feeling alternative to Beats Mixrs

New wife just gave me a pair of Beats Mixrs for wedding present. Nice thought and I love her but I want something more comfortable and that sounds better. High end kills me on some recordings and they can get painful after a little while.

I travel a lot so looking for something comfortable, yet durable that I can take on the airplane.

Any help is appreciated. Does Klipsch make anything good portable?

Thanks

Thanks. You have any feedback on the Sennheiser HD series? Looking at the 598's

Open air headphones are hardly something I'd suggest as a portable, and especially worthless on an airplane.

Very best,
