I own both vol. 1 and 2 of that set as well as the Blues, Soul and Classical boxes from the same series. They're all very worth having, especially if you pick them up from one of the third party sellers on Amazon in the $30-40 range.

funny you asked: I was about to recommend you this collection in the other thread you started...
Sound-quality varies a lot as you may expect and I don't recall any audiophile-quality recording in this collection, but from the artistic POV it is very, very, good: I'd say about one third of the CDs are must-haves, one third solid recordings from big names, and one third are "interesting choices"
