In other news, these have been picked up by ifrogz, dubbed 'Aura' and selling for $130.

My friend has just bought me a pair of the MH463 from China. But unfortunately, the volumes on both sides are a bit uneven, probably by 15-20% judging from my setting. I have taken the drivers out and physically look fine, I will check the impedance later.

Would anyone be interested in a groupbuy? For the MH463 ? Also getting quote for EFI-82MT. I have used Alibaba for my old business for years.

What price point would be the most interesting? I might be able to do $40 or less shipped inside the US. I have sent an inquiry. Minimum order is 20 units.

EDIT: If we have 20 people I can get the EFI82MT for $28/unit at my door. So we could definitly do a group buy for around $40 shipped to your door in the US. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I'd be interested. I'm not really that into open headphones, but with the price on these, I think it would be a good start into them.

Well guess what I saw today. Found another rebrand of the MH463.

XSCargo here in Canada ( ATTN: ALL CANADIANS ) has them under the Lethal Audio brand on now for $29.99. Same thing. Not listed on their site or in their flyer,  so it may be a store by store case.

Saw 7 or 8 of them on the shelf here today.  XSCargo is a clearance for overstock and closeouts so I do not believe they offer any sort of online ordering.

Lethal Audio as a company is now defunct.

Thinking... thinking....

Now we have Somic, Lasmex, Ifrogz, (some other brand I dont remember, -was mentioned earlier in the thread) and Lethal Audio... Do they(?) manufacture these in 5 different versions with different earpad+driver coverings and different logos on the headband? Seems like they all sound equal, though.

Incredible price. Love my MH463 - except the left channel/casing has a rattle.

Anyone in the lower mainland/island wanna scoop me a pair and ship to Prince George? I can pay interac e-transfer or paypal.

Any of you tried HTF600? I feel like the HTF600 is slightly better in all regards. Wish I had the MH for longer so I could do more testing...

Did you check the impedance? My Lasmex H-75 (=Somic rebrand) has L 42.1ohm and R 42.2ohm.

I just did, I think both sides are pretty matching at around 48.2ohm and 48.1ohm. I have done a few simple tests and I found that these is a huge difference in the frequency responds using the equal loudness test online. On the left driver, anything below 500Hz is much louder than the right driver. Vice versa, the right hand driver can produce sounds at significant higher volume from 2-3kHz. This creates a huge imbalance of sound. As for now, it will be sitting in the box as I cannot really return it. Maybe I should sell if for spares? But at this price, who cares!?

You are pretty much the first one to have any problems with imbalance of the driver s, afaik. Too bad you can't enjoy their sound smily_headphones1.gif
But what is really weird, is that your drivers have 48ohm and mine 42ohm. There's no way they'd be manufactured with the same machine/factory. Does that mean that there are differences between the Somics and the rebrands? Their drivers can't be called equal, that's for sure.

you definitely are the first one out of all of us to hit this problem. Im sure you can exchange it?

True, I think my friend might just got some sort of factory seconds from China. You know, anything can happen there. Their QC isn't exactly very good, especially for local sales.

Anyway, better luck next time.

I had(have) the same problem with the left/right channel imbalance (and I think one guy at the begging of this thread had the same issue)

It is not that big 0.5-1.5 db depending on the song.

But what is annoying is that it is frequency dependent, so you have large sound areas in you mind moving slightly (for example voice singing low/high)

PS: the mh489 are ok in that respect
